Job Title: Steward (Kitchen Steward)

Job Summary
As a Steward at Goodstone Inn & Restaurant, you play a critical behind-the-scenes role in delivering an exceptional guest experience. You are responsible for maintaining a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen environment while supporting the culinary and service teams.
This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in their work, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and understands that a clean kitchen is the foundation of great hospitality.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, dish area, and storage spaces
- Operate dishwashing equipment to clean dishes, glassware, pots, pans, and utensils
- Ensure all sanitation and safety standards are consistently followed
- Assist cooks and service staff as needed to support smooth kitchen operations
- Collect and remove trash from all kitchen and service areas following proper procedures
- Perform general cleaning duties, including sweeping, mopping, and sanitizing surfaces
- Clean and maintain kitchen equipment, floors, and walls in accordance with standards
- Follow all Safety Data Sheet (SDS) guidelines for proper chemical use
- Maintain a safe, clean, and inspection-ready environment at all times
- Support team members and contribute to a positive, collaborative work environment
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
Work Environment
- Fast-paced kitchen environment
- Exposure to heat, moisture, and cleaning chemicals
- Team-oriented setting with frequent interaction across departments
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Frequent lifting, bending, and reaching
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly
